Hi, my name is Eric Acuña, I like to go by E. I use He/Him pronouns.Currently, I am a master’s student, studying as a research assistant for New Media at the University of Texas in San Antonio.

 

My interest are in kinetic energy, electronic sound, or anything that transmits frequency. In my studio, I experiment with tracing out the rhythm of movement from an array of explorations and reflections that are shaped by my curiosity and passion for innovation.

 

My research focuses on exploring light phenomena in soft materials through installations, field recordings, and sculptures. These works integrate electronics, sensors, material sciences, and reverse engineering to investigate key aspects of perceptual phenomenology and ecology, with an emphasis on the interconnectedness of all living beings within ecosystems.

 

I earned my BFA from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. I currently live and work in San Antonio Texas where I enjoy venturing out into the dark skies within the hill country. I actively engage in the community astronomy club's sky-watching groups. In my free time, I love dancing, reading, and capturing light refractions with my camera.
